Construction Update #4
Our 1100 Block is scheduled to open fully complete in late November.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you climbing with us through 2 large construction projects at our intersection. We really admire all of the regular members and visitors that continue to support our downtown neighborhood. We truly have a great community!
The not-so-good news is that work will continue to focus on our area for the next 6-8 weeks, with 11th and 12th street intersections remaining closed until late November. Crews are working hard to keep crossings available for visitors parking both east and west of Main Street.
The good news...
The 12th Street intersections, 1100 and 1200 blocks are scheduled to open, fully complete by Thanksgiving! We are looking forward to all new sidewalks, parking and street lighting to enhance our neighborhood just in time for the peak indoor climbing season. Here are the latest details block-by-block:
- 12th Street to Mill Plain Boulevard: Work will focus on the reconstruction of all wastewater (sewer), water, street surfaces and sidewalks. Main Street between 13th Street and Mill Plain Boulevard is projected to reopen in late September. Main Street from 12th Street to 13th Street is projected to reopen in late October.
- Main Street and 12th Street intersection: Work will focus on the reconstruction of all wastewater (sewer), water, street surfaces and sidewalks. 12th Street will be closed from Washington Street to Broadway Street during construction. Construction is expected through early November.
- 11th Street to 12th Street: Work will focus on the reconstruction of all wastewater (sewer), water, street surfaces and sidewalks. During construction, 12th Street, between Washington and Main streets, is temporarily a one-way with only eastbound traffic allowed. Construction is expected through late November.
- Main Street and 11th intersection: Beginning in mid September, 11th Street will be closed for about a half block to the east and west of 11th Street and Main Street. This closure is projected to end in late November. Crews will return in 2026 for the second phase of work.
